LGBTQIA
Both individual and Couples Counseling s available for clients who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer/questioning, intersex, asexual, or any other underrepresented person. The issues addressed in therapy are often no different than what is addressed with cis-heteronormative individuals and couples. However, you will be supported by an informed and affirming clinician to understand more common and sensitive issues that can arise in this population. This can include things like variations in gender/sexuality expression, internalized hate, variations in beliefs related to identity, boundaries with friends/ex-lovers, etc that can effect the relationship and sexual functioning. Relationship therapy (a more inclusive term for couples counseling) is a mix of structured and unstructured. There will be psychoeducation and practicing of skills while allowing you to advocate for what you need at the moment. With therapy, you can feel more confident, communicate more effectively, feel closer with your partner, have a more fulfilling sex life, feel happier overall, and get your needs met
