As an open minded and compassionate AASECT certified sex therapist, I have had the honor and pleasure of working with both individuals and couples with diverse experiences and needs. As a Marriage and Family Therapist over the past two decades working with both children, adolescents, adults, couples and families going through many different life experiences, has only added to my clinical exploration and led me to where I am today as a sex therapist. We all have a story to tell. Our lives are full of hopes and dreams, fears and struggles. No matter if the client in front of me is an individual wanting to increase their level of sexual desire, a couple wanting to open their relationship, or someone wanting to work through sexual trauma, we all need someone to listen and support us. I consider myself to be an empathic therapist. I want to be a safe space for my client on their life journey of sexual exploration. I also know that it is not easy to go to therapy and I want to be someone who starts where the client is at, but also know that I can be direct at times if needed, and softer at other times. My hope in working with a client and couple through sex therapy is that they learn something new in the session that sheds some light, and gives a sense of hope for their given situation. I know that it can take a few sessions to build rapport, and I am patient. I also know that the goal from the very first session is to eventually end therapy, so I am always aware of goals changing but being reached.
